As we edge closer and closer to this year’s festival season, you can see that our talented artists are putting in the long hours (and consuming shitloads of coffee) in order to finish some bangin’ tunes to be showcased. What can we say? The artists have definitely proved their creative capabilities recently as we can celebrate an unloading of quality release after release in the world of hardstyle. So what have been Alive At Night’s top releases of the fortnight? Well stay tuned and find out the tunes that we’ve been blasting non-stop!
1. Code Black – Draw Me Closer
“It’s love that keeps us alive…” Code Black can never do any wrong and after a long wait since his last solo release, Mr. Pandora is back and better than ever. Code Black took the hard path with this track as he tackled it from both a raw and euphoric direction (well, we think its raw enough…) and you could say that his hard work paid off! With an eerie and sultry atmosphere, “Draw Me Closer” grabs all emotions with the spine shivering vocals and when it comes time, the powerful kicks pack a punch.
2. D-Block & S-te-Fan and Rebourne – Louder
Well, well, well… What do we have here? Unless you’ve lived under a rock for the last few years you would have heard the vocals pre-circa 2012 from DJ Fresh, but this is the real deal (and puts DJ Fresh to shame, sorry mate). Young melody-man Rebourne and pioneering duo D-Block & S-te-Fan teamed up to tear the scene a new one and their creation “Louder” just goes to show that uplifting hardstyle can still have an extremely powerful effect. The perfect summery melody, a huge atmosphere and the magic touch from this dream team makes this tracks ability to be absolutely huge.
3. Dillytek featuring Ellie – See Me Now
The boys from Oz are back again with yet another killer release, this time, featuring the heart-melting vocals from the lovely Ellie. A perfect feel-good atmosphere and Summer vibes floating around, “See Me Now” is a track that will surely be flying high on the radar. Dillytek always manage to bring something fresh to the table and we hope to hear much more quality floating out of their Aussie studio!
4. Digital Punk & Frequencerz featuring MC Nolz – We Still Don’t Give a Fuck
Crossing over to the darker side here, Mr. Unleashed and the notorious Frequencerz teamed up to follow up their former hit “We Don’t Give A Fuck” – and guess what? They STILL don’t give a fuck. Well I wouldn’t particularly give a fuck if I could make tunes as ruthless as this! Packing a punch with a driving atmosphere and some lovely vocals about smashing through pingas until we overdose and raving until we die, this constitutes the perfect dance-floor smasher. The definition of YOLO, this track perfectly sums up many ravers lives each weekend.
5. The Vision – Bring Me Up
Fresh, catchy and of an utmost quality. This is what we have been craving in the world of hardstyle! The Vision has made some solid tracks over the time but nothing beats his new slammer “Bring Me Up.” We hope that The Vision will ditch the competitive ‘raw’ market and cross over to make more of this – because he definitely has a knack for providing the feels! Hugely atmospheric and having the ability to get anybody dancing, this track is the definition of happiness and well, we love it! Hear the magic…
6. Atmozfears & Audiotricz – Reawakening
This is the most majestic hardstyle song I have ever heard – it seriously makes me want to run into the street naked and dance in the rain. I will refrain from doing that however and continue to talk about why this song is so great. One: The vocals – flawless. The melody: flawless. The storyline: even more flawless and will prepare you for some warmer days. This is definitely a track that contains a magic touch and we’ll surely be still listening to it in a year’s time!
7. Brennan Heart – Illumination (2015 Reverze Anthem)
2009 inspired melody, a musical journey crafted to perfection and swirling emotions that many modern tracks lack, Brennan Heart has undoubtedly hit the nail on the head this year with his take on this year’s Reverze anthem. Illuminating all souls, this track will send you back to the good ole’ days when the music packed an artists heart and soul. With an eerie atmosphere and nostalgic feels, “Illumination” is the perfect way to prepare yourselves for this years’ edition of Reverze.
8. TNT & Zany – Heatwave
What happens when hardstyle heavyweights TNT join forces with ‘ze master’ Zany? A heatwave happens! This track is reaching a boiling point and we love it’s powerful charge. TNT can never do wrong these days and it’s nice to see Zany joining forces with the pizza and pasta of hardstyle to create this huge mesh of perfection. Heavy kicks, an old school melody and ‘dem vocals’ are a match made in heaven and well, we are in love.
9. Devin Wild – Into The Night
Token kiddie of the Scantraxx pack Devin Wild is taking the hardstyle world by storm with his knack for producing music of a remarkable quality. His debut release on Scantraxx “Into The Night” has proved that this underage genius can produce not just a song, but a story. The heart melting melodies in combination with the vocals sends shivers down listeners spines. We dig this! Keep up the great work Devin Wild!
10. Outlander – Euphoricat/Gaia
With everything that Outlander releases we think “WTF goes through his head when producing this?” Nobody (I repeat, nobody) else is making this kind of stuff! Outlander seriously wins the award for the most random sounding hardstyle, however we admit, it works. With chilled electronica influences evident, Outlander’s new bundle release are a breath of fresh air within the usual lump of “stuff.” By now, many of you should know that Outlander is obsessed with cats and if you didn’t know that, then I guess you do now with his feline inspired release “Euphoricat.” When you think creativity runs out at a song dedicated to his cat, Outlander stikes again with the second of the two “Gaia,” and this one really reminds me of a neon sparkling waterfall in the middle of nowhere… Good job Outlander, we want to hear more!
