#TBT – A well deserved tribute to Zany & Max Enforcer ft. MC DV8’s “Sound Intense City”
As the spring season is embraced with open arms, party vibes and excitement is building in anticipation for the forthcoming Rebirth Festival this weekend. The temperatures are creeping up and as the frosty mornings are replaced by warm, welcoming sunshine, we come to realise that the hottest months of the year are literally right before us. In celebration of the beloved festival season (that always unfortunately flashes right before our eyes), this week we chose to put a track into the spotlight that packs in summer-vibes like no other and will get you hyped up like never before!
If I must, I just have to say that the chosen #TBT tribute to represent the week is one of the most under-appreciated tracks and for me, is one of the best anthems ever created. Showcasing pure euphoria and capturing what festival season really means, let’s give it up for “Sound Intense City” by Zany and Max Enforcer, featuring MC DV8.
Released back in 2011, this groovy number served as the defining track for one of the biggest outdoor festivals and calendar highlights of the year for Hard Dance fans, Decibel Outdoor Festival. “Sound Intense City” is what a summer anthem should sound like; Max Enforcer and Zany prove that there’s no need for over-complicated sound design or ridiculous melodies, sometimes less is more and in this case the guys came out with an absolute winner! Featuring vocals by MC DV8, I can’t get enough of that rock inspired edge folded together with hard kicks and the feel-good atmosphere. Another mention goes to the lyrics themselves; I mean, who doesn’t love a cheeky Guns ‘N Roses reference?!
The drive that this summer-jam packs in is incredible and I feel as though modern productions sometimes lose this ‘fun’ atmosphere and opt to create an overly-serious track instead. Do we have a timeless gem on our hands? I think so! Big ups to Zany, Max Enforcer and DV8 for this masterpiece, bring on the summer!
