WISH Outdoor is coming up this weekend! The weather forecast is looking great, but have you heard the anthem yet? No? We had the chance to catch up with Audiotricz! The two guys are providing this years anthem, and we had the chance to call them during a night time studio session and asked them some questions about “United As One”, the festival season so far and music, music, music!

Hey, guys! Nice to talk to you! How have you been?
Great, actually! We just got out of our jet lag. We had a really cool weekend with Dreamfields and Sunrise!

So where does the jet lag come from?
From EDC in Vegas! It was super sick. The overall experience of being in America is always amazing. We did a solo set and a b2b set with Adrenalize, which was really fun! The coolest thing in America is that it doesn’t really matter what you play there, as the people will always dance their asses off. As a DJ, that’s everything you can wish for!

…and the dutch festival season?
It just started, right?! So far we just have great memories! Lot’s of the gigs we’ve been to have just been amazing!

So tell me a bit about WISH. Have you been there last year?
We’ve been there last year and definitely remember the huge stage that we played on, but the thing was that we had a booking right after, so we had to leave 30 minutes after our gig. We couldn’t stay that long, which was a pity. This weekend we don’t have any other bookings, so we’re definitely going to stay at the festival the entire day. 🙂

So tell me a little more about “United As One”! The feedback so far is amazing! People love that melody!
It was actually finished in two days! We already had a mid-intro and a melody but we were not really satisfied with it, but then three days before WISH Mexico we were in the studio together and were thinking about how we could fix the track. We decided to start over new and when I (Léon) went to bed after working on the track, Kenneth kept on working – so when we woke up the track was finished! So the entire thing was finished in about two days! We still really tried to create an anthem feeling, especially with the sound design in the build up and of course we also did those cool details with the tempo change in the breakdown.

…and the vocal?
We had this meeting at WISH some time ago, where they asked us to do the anthem. Since we’re not really good writers, but musicians, we contacted John Harris and showed him the concept we got. He’s a great writer and he provided us with a really nice story! It turned out quite long, we cut it down a bit and added the very best of it to the track!

You guys also did a Spotify list for WISH!
Yes, we did! It’s mostly tracks we like and play at the moment and you will definitely hear some of them in your WISH set. 🙂

Let’s talk a bit more about Audiotricz! How’s your “Infinite Podcast” going?
We’re really proud of what we have achieved with our podcast so far. It’s a big thing to play on SLAM.FM, a dutch radio station and it’s a great opportunity, especially for Hardstyle. Considering that we’re not “in the game” that long it’s really special to us. For the coming episode you might hear some of the tracks of our Spotify playlist and of course whatever cool stuff our friends and colleagues are providing us with!

You guys also have a video blog, “Infinite Journey”, how’s that going?
The last four episodes have been great so far, the feedback was really great, but after that we have a surprise coming up! The concept is still the same here and there, but it’s just gonna be different. We sat down and brainstormed about how we could make it a bit cooler and came up with some cool ideas. We can’t really say much, but as said, it’s gonna be different! 😉

Let’s talk music again. You guys are releasing on several labels right now! What’s happening here?
We’re still at Scantraxx and we have some tracks lined up there, but Joram (Wildstylez) really liked “A Broken Story”, so we released it at his label “Lose Control” and are really happy with it. We also released a collab with him, “Turn The Music Up” just recently and of course we also released some remixes on different labels too!

The internet is full of rumors, so what about all the collab rumors going on with Atmozfears and Wildstylez?
Ah, well. We’re all really close but just because we hang out often and are friends doesn’t always mean that we’re in the studio all the time together. But we did something with Adrenalize just before EDC! We did one track, but were so on a roll in the studio that we even made a second track! The last two or three weeks were really full of inspiration, we made so many tracks! As an artist you have such a creative period maybe once or twice a year, so we’re really happy that we have so much music ready right now!

And other than that, what’s coming up for Audiotricz right now?
We have a lot of cool festivals coming up! CRAFT is one of them, then Dancevalley and of course also WISH this weekend and we have a tour coming up too – but once again: We can’t really say much a bout that! 😉

Any Newcomers we should watch out for right now?
Definitely Demi Kanon and Devin Wild! Both of them make quality music and you guys should keep your eyes and ears open!

Any thing else? Is there also new merch coming up?
Well, we’ll see about this. I hope there’s new mercy coming up this year! We’re kinda looking about strings and stuff!

Yea. G-strings for men. 😀 It’s kinda unique and no one’s ever done that.

Merch ideas? No?

Uhhh… Are you gonna model them too on the photo shoot?
Nahhh. We’re just gonna put them on on stage and see how the crowd reacts. 😀

Well you’re gonna gain a whole new female following I guess!
Well the only thing we’re gaining right now is weight, we think. 😀 But yea, we were just kidding a bit here, of course!

Haha! Suuuure! But last but not least: What did you have for breakfast?
Yoghurt with fruit and coffee. The day starts and ends with coffee and there’s at least 20 in between!
