Artist Of The Month – January 2015
Bass Modulators
For hardstyle producers, as another new year rolls around the list of new year’s resolutions builds its pages and the ambition is especially high in those initial months. That fresh burst of energy and motivation is what a new year is all about, which is why we have chosen a duo who have consistently brought that ‘fresh burst’ to their tracks time and time again, regardless of what time of the year it is.
This dynamic duo are driven by their intense passion for music as hardstyle pumps through their veins and straight into their unique productions. Two individuals by the names of Roland Evers and Rick Buijtenhek or better known as the Bass Modulators are notorious for their steady rise amongst the hardstyle scene since the early days of 2007. As long time friends and lovers of producing hard dance music, they joined forces and from then on they went from strength to strength as they built their signature sound and embarked on a musical journey. Over the years, Bass Modulators have steadily built their musical foundations into the scene with a dedicated attitude and an original perspective on music as a whole.
Earlier times saw Rick and Roland having their talents discovered via YouTube by DJ’s United Records, who then released one of their first tracks. Soon after their first release, the guys collaborated with B-Front to create old-school flavoured tracks “Quarantine” and “Pathology” which were a true combination of both sounds. Shortly after their releases on DJ’s United Orange Records the boys kicked it up a notch and signed with Scantraxx Records which truly kicked off their careers and helped them share their new and improved sound to the world of hardstyle.
One great musical adventure followed which saw the Bass Modulators travelling to tear the decks apart all over the world at festivals such as Mysteryland, Decibel Outdoor Festival, DefQon.1 Festival in the Netherlands and Australia, Hardbass , Tomorrowland and Q-Base.
In recent times, the Bass Modulators have worked with hardstyle pioneer Noisecontrollers to create floor-smashing collaboration “Rocked Up” and not to mention their amazing remix of “Faster ‘N Further”. These guys have truly cemented their euphoric and feel-good signature sound into the world and have gained their status through their high-quality and creative productions. Amongst their array of remarkable releases in 2014, they released “Save The Day” feat. Vice on Hard With Style and also created a true standout track, “Radiance” which brings such an incredible euphoric vibe.
In 2015, the guys are set to rock Team Blue at Hard Bass in February as well as encounter a packed-out festival season schedule! Release-wise, we cannot wait to hear what they have planned next and we wish them the very best for the new year!
