‘Unlike Others’ – 10 iconic Minus Is More Releases
Minus Is More. Other than boasting one of the the catchiest label names to date, this prevalent musical platform has formed its own revolution, backed by a prestigious army of artists, and, of course, a die-hard fan-base.
Launching their missile back in 2008, a time where melodies were at their prime, Minus Is More was formed to allow the darker and rougher sounds of Hardstyle to shine. At first, their rebellion was controversial to say the least, however fast-forward to nine years down the line and Minus Is More is still alive and thriving!
On the 13th of May, devoted disciples of the underground are set to conjoin and unite during the Minus Is More label night, hosted by NXT Events. In lieu of this mighty movement leaving us shattered, we decided to wrap-up ten unforgettable Minus Is More releases from all eras!
Kold Konexion – Something Sweet (2008)
And there it was, the very first release on Minus Is More. Capturing tasteful flavours of Hard Trance, Kold Konexion’s “Something Sweet” is an oldie, but wow, who could ever forget that incredible melody?! A serious classic right here.
Crypsis & Luna – Torture (2009)
“A scorcher, a flame on the brain, this is torture!” Together, Crypsis and Luna created not only one of MIM’s most cherished classics, but a total knockout in Hardstyle. Whoever doesn’t know this track has literally spent the last eight (or so) years underneath a rock.
Crypsis – Strike (2010)
“Become unpredictable… Strike from your subconscious mind…” Again, we’ve got another unforgettable gem created by Crypsis. With his creative ideas being so far ahead of their time, “Strike” is one of those tracks that will always retain its value.
Chain Reaction – Lellebel (2010)
Now, this track is a bit of a wildcard and some of you might not agree with my choice – but hell, for me this is one of Chain Reaction’s finest works. Too ‘old’ for you? Check out his re-visited version.
Radical Redemption & Crypsis feat. MC Tha Watcher – Unlike Others (2012)
Ladies and gents, this right here is where all this ‘unlike others’ business started. This powerful track is the perfect representation of the foundations that comprise the Minus Is More sound – rawness, roughness, quality and power.
Chain Reaction – The Record Breaking (2013)
One of the biggest hits of the ‘modern-ish’ era was Chain Reaction’s “The Record Breaking.” Why? Um, because those kicks are out of this f#cking world and don’t even get me started on how cleverly he folded in the vocals. Years later and this track is still doing damage on the dance-floor!
Minus Militia – The Genesis (Supremacy 2014 Anthem) (2014)
Somewhere in the depths of 2014, a genius idea arose to combine the label’s biggest heavyweights and since then, an unprecedented force has been embraced. Bursting into the scene with their Supremacy 2014 anthem, this track marks the beginning of power-act Minus Militia’s tremendous journey.
Act of Rage – Brain Confusion (2015)
Youngster of the Minus Is More clan Act of Rage dropped a big bomb back in 2015. Everyone in Hard Dance world should be acquainted with “Brain Confusion” by now. I mean, I’m pretty sure that my own mother even knows this track, or is that too far…?
Luna & Warface – The Danger Zone (2016)
Head honcho Luna teamed up with Warface to create a total smasher, titled “The Danger Zone.” It wasn’t christened with that title for no reason – this track is seriously dangerous!
Radical Redemption – Brutal 6.0 (2017)
Ah… And we’ve come to the most recent shining star of MIM’s musical collection – no less than Radical Redemption’s “Brutal 6.0.” Totally conquering the scene, this savage number is the embodiment of raw Hardstyle at its finest.
Well, that’s a wrap! We hope to see each and every one of you on the 13th of May for the ultimate Minus Is More celebration. Shit will go down, so be sure to secure your spot at this illustrious event. For tickets and all information, head to the FACEBOOK EVENT.
