#TBT – A well deserved tribute to Paul Elstak’s “The Promised Land”
The sun is shining, the wine’s about to be flowing (after I finish writing this) and the good vibes just keep coming! This summer has been incredible, both weather-wise and party-wise and with all the great music around, it just keeps getting better!
Therefore, with happiness at the forefront, I chose a very special track that’s bound to put you in a great mood on this sunny Thursday. Dating all the way back to 1996, our #TBT is a true, evergreen classic when it comes to Hardcore music and is also still spun regularly today. If you don’t know this one then, well, you’d better reconsider yourself as a true fan!
With that being said, it’s time to spotlight yet another incredible track and this week the honours go to Paul Elstak for his 1996 release “The Promised Land.”
Whether I hear The Viper’s modernised remix or the original, each time I hear that majestic piano intro and vocals my mind spins out in a state of complete euphoria. A true classic by nature, “The Promised Land” is also accompanied by a kick-ass video clip (by the way, Paul Elstak hasn’t aged a bit) which is made in true 90’s spirit.
So, before I head off to enjoy the sunshine, I’ll leave you all with this classic track and it’s video. Man, how I wish that I was raving in the 90’s… I think my parents would’ve had a problem with it though…
