#TBT – A well deserved tribute to Headhunterz, Wildstylez & Noisecontrollers’ “Tonight.”
And, quicker than I could say ‘Thursday,’ a fresh new week rolled around! This Thursday is extra special, not just because I’ve got an awesome #TBT tribute lined up, but because within a matter of days I’ll be on a plane, jetting off to The Netherlands where I’ll spend a couple of months! It’s exciting to say the least, so in relation to that I dug up a track that symbolises what I’ll be spending the summer doing. Living and breathing music – Hardstyle specifically; so what better way to welcome in a new chapter than celebrating one of the very songs that got me hooked on this life-changing movement in the first place!
So, with that being said I think that it’s right about time to welcome in this weeks #TBT. Dating all the way back to 2009, this particular track took grip on the Hardstyle scene with such immense strength; it’s legacy forever in our hearts as one of the most symbolic tracks of the genre. An extremely monumental piece of work done by three of the scene’s most cherished figureheads; let’s pay tribute to “Tonight” by Noisecontrollers, Headhunterz and Wildstylez!
First of all, it’s so hard to believe that “Tonight” has been floating around for over six years and still manages to blow up crowds whenever it’s played! This track utters sheer perfection and bliss and fans who were around when this gem was unleashed on the scene can probably vouch that there haven’t been many tracks release since that have generated such a tremendous impact. Where do I even begin to verbally build a shrine for this game-changing masterpiece?! Well, let me state the obvious and say that the majestic atmosphere is out of this fucking world! I mean it, nowadays the majority of Hardstyle releases either sound fluffy with whinging vocals or raw and wannabee badass, so it’s always great to celebrate powerful tracks that break through that middle-ground sound.
Before I wrap this up, I also have to show some appreciation to the Alpha2 remix of “Tonight,” which was released in 2012, three years after the original was dropped. Boy, it was risky for the twins to attempt remixing an already-perfect classic, however the duo created something just as brilliant!
