#TBT – A well deserved tribute to Dune’s “Hardcore Vibes”

Who’s feeling the summer vibes this week?! The high temperatures have taken their sweet-ass time to bless The Netherlands, but now they’re here and will be around for this entire week, so jump outside and soak up the summer vibes! Speaking of vibes, we dug up an ancient Hard Dance gem to add that extra pinch of happiness to your day. Dating back to 1995, this spotlighted track will have you literally rolling into a euphoric state of mind.

This week we’re bringing up a remarkably special track as we throw it all the way back to the days when most of us were still rocking out in our cribs. This #TBT is dedicated to all the ravers in the nation, so give it up for “Hardcore Vibes” by Dune.

The mid-nineties marked some golden times for the rave scene, especially when Dune emerged with their stellar hit “Hardcore Vibes.” This track set the standard high for what was known back then as rave music and is still deemed one of the most iconic anthems in electronic music’s history. Even today, you can really see the true, long-time Hardcore lovers come out to play whenever this bomb is dropped and for me, it’s a feel-good track that sums up the power of the genre. Hard Dance fans may also be aware of this the German group Dune from their subsequent hit “Can’t Stop Raving,” which is still dropped during modern Hardcore sets and has been remixed several times.

Earlier this year at Defqon.1, Dune had the honour to bring the hardcore vibes to the Gold stage as part of the Early Rave concept. Unfortunately I was unable to witness this spectacle, but I heard that it was a performance to remember, so long live (Happy) Hardcore!
