#TBT – A well deserved tribute to Chris One’s “Psycho.”
Okay, let’s quit beating around the bush and just rip the band-aid off. With all due respect to ‘summery’ vibes, complex high-pitched melodies and other happy ‘put-your-hands-up-and-sway-along’ shit, but c’mon, we need some intense and filthy tunes up in here! And when I say filthy, I don’t mean some 2016 commercial raw release, I’m thinking more along the lines of when raw Hardstyle wasn’t such a ‘thing’ and it was more of an exciting, underground movement ready to emerge.
During my drive to work this morning and after listening to random German techno for half of the car trip, an delightful surprise from 2011 popped up. Aside from it’s pure darkness and aggression kind of making me do at least three illegal things on the road, I also decided that I no longer had a decision to make when it came to this weeks #TBT. Let’s just cut to the chase – it’s time a throw a rather mischievous number into the spotlight. This one’s dedicated to all the insane bitches and dudes in the world – give it up for “Psycho” by Chris One.
Released on TiLLT Records and crafted by Swedish young-shot Chris One, “Psycho” was (and still is) recognised as a track that really changed the ‘rawstyle’ game. Despite some growing pains amongst fans who preferred accessible sounds, this track was widely appreciated and is acclaimed as a legendary and timeless gem. It’s dark atmosphere is matchless; not many artists can nail capturing fury and combining it with a tinge of mystery.
Still deemed as a obscure and intense track, we guess that it’s only a matter of time until Chris One pumps out something just as good!

Raw Hardstyle*, not Rawstyle.
