#TBT – A well deserved tribute to Charly Lownoise & Mental Theo’s “Wonderful Days”

It’s been a glorious week and as we edge towards the conclusion of January we come to realise that the beloved festival season isn’t as far away from us as we thought. Ah… The thought of dancing underneath the summer sun (or Dutch rain) whilst downing undersized glasses of cheap, sour white wine at lightning speed truly puts a smile on my face.

With positivity and good vibes running high, I chose the perfect track to outline the happiness that ravers experience during the summertime. Many of you would’ve experienced this feel-good number capturing your soul, either during live-sets or simply from kicking back with a pair of headphones. Needless to say, Charly Lownoise & Mental Theo’s legendary track “Wonderful Days” is worthy of a tribute!

Dating back to 1994, it’s hard to believe that this timeless track is literally as old as I am! No matter how many times I hear “Wonderful Days,” the track never ceases to fill me up with a warm, golden feeling as I envision how great the rave scene was back in the days. Something I’d love to see more today is the blend of psychedelic visuals, bright colours and jubilant story-lines, instead of the same old darkness portrayed in modern Hard Dance music.
