You have to be ignorant if you have not yet heard of the fast rising Belgian youngster Mandy Praet, better known as MANDY. At the ripe young age of nineteen, this lovely Flemish gal has played gigs that most of us can only dream of. Moreover, with tracks like “Reset Your Mindset”, “Here We Go,” and “All Heart” she’s already boasts some severe bangers to her name. Promised to be one of the most talented young female DJs, it is about time to get to know her a little bit better with 21 (random) questions…

1. What is your favourite song outside the Hardstyle genre?

Well, I listen a lot to music other than Hardstyle, I mostly love listening to Hip Hop and Oldskool – I love to ‘rap’ along tracks in my car. Nonetheless, if I must choose a favourite song it’s probably 2 Pac’s “Picture Me Rollin” as he is such a legend.

2. If you must open your set with one song for the rest of your career, what song would that be?

That would definitely be my first release on Dirty Workz – “Reset Your Mindset.” As this was the track that started my career, it gives me such a special feeling every time I play it.

3. What is the greatest achievement in your life so far?

Every single gig so far I see as a great achievement in my life. But, lately I’ve had some awesome news that I’ll be performing at Reverze 2017, which, I believe, is going to be the coolest gig in my career so far. It is such a great opportunity and I’m really looking forward to it!

4. What would be the hardest thing for you to give up on?

Me, myself and my goals. Whatever happens I never lose faith in myself. I always work hard for the things I want to achieve and even through harsh times I don’t ever think about giving up.

5. Who do you envy and why?

The big deejays like Martin Garrix and Hardwell. They can share their passion for music with so many people at such huge shows… Woah I believe that’s just epic!

6. What makes you bored? 

Sundays in Belgium… I HATE Sundays!!! Every store is closed and there’s just nothing to do – boring…

7. What is your favourite book?

To be honest, I don’t read books. Am I the only one here, haha? I really like going to the movies though.

8. What is your favourite cosmetic product?

The matte lipsticks by MAC Cosmetics and definitely all the items from Victoria’s Secret… I have to admit, I am obsessed with their products, haha.

9. What do you like more? Sunny days or Snowy days?

Sunny days! I’d rather go to the beach and sip on cocktails in the burning sun or visit festivals as opposed to walking around in my winter jacket or driving my car on icy roads. I am not the kind of person who adores snow, brrrr…

10. What do you like to do in your spare time?

Well… Enjoying music, looking for new music, hanging out with my friends, going out for dinner, and shopping. That’s pretty much it.

11. What is your favourite shop to buy clothes?

I have so many favourite stores! Some of them are Balr, Nike, Kenzo, Forever 21 and many, many more.

12. What is the nicest compliment you ever had?

That my performances are powerful. This meant a lot!

13. Does Mandy has a workout regime? (Run us through it!) 

I do not really have a work out regime (but thanks for asking, haha). However, I do tend to go for a run sometimes.

14. If you could have a dinner party with three Hard Dance artists, who would you invite and why? 

Korsakoff, Anime and DJ Stephanie… I know that Lindsay (Korsakoff) likes food as much as I do. And Barbara (Anime) and Stefania (DJ Stephanie) are Italian and I love Italian food. They should probably know the best places to eat some Italian delicacies. 😉

15. If you could have a one meal for the rest of your life, what meal would that be?

FRESH MADE ITALIAN PIZZA!!!

16. What cheers you up when you’re down?

Hardstyle, my five dogs and food!

17. What certain quality in people frustrates you the most?

People who are too much of a perfectionist in everything they do.

18. What is your favourite film?

‘Don’t Breathe,’ you should check it out some time!

19. If you can pick anyone, whom do you want to make a collab with?
