Standing Out: A ladies guide to summer festival fashion!
In the Netherlands, the weather during a festival season is always a bit of a gamble. But if it is anything like last summer, the weather gods will mostly give us sun and perfect temperatures. For girls, it will always be a struggle to find a good festival outfit that will sustain itself throughout a full day of raving. To help you girls relieve your outfit stress, Alive at Night presents to you the ultimate fashion guide to stand out in a crowd filled with merchandise snapbacks and Militant crop tops (#sorrynotsorry).
First up is the belt bag, a.k.a. “the fanny pack”. Although it had a nerdy image over the past few years, this trend was first spotted last year on the people that like to take fashion risks, and many celebs, including the likes of Kylie Jenner. It’s a convenient item, that doesn’t fall off or gets in your way when you’re dancing or bouncing around on 140BPM or higher. It’s available on many trendy websites, like ASOS, and comes in many shapes and sizes.
The next festival trend we will see a lot this year is a bit more naughty. Sheer bodysuits are a perfect way to show off that summer body you’ve been working so hard on for the past few months. At Coachella, sheer tops were even worn without a bra underneath it, so if you want the guarantee of getting frisky in your tent after the festival, this is your go-to look. For a bit more modesty, just wear a black bra or a sports bra underneath it.
Except for outfit trends, 2017 also is a bold year for beauty trends. This year, you can expect a lot of hot pink and blue dyed hair. A lot of celebrities do this by wearing a wig, or dyeing their hair completely. For those among us that don’t have the funds to buy a bright coloured wig or the guts to paint their hair completely, there are sprays that will change the colour of your hair for only one day.
Another beauty trend is glitter… Glitter EVERYWHERE. Where the fake tattoos in silver and gold were a big hype last year, this year glitter can be all over your body in the form of body glitter, eye shadow or even body paint!
