The on-going SFX catastrophe seems to have hit central Dance music hub, The Netherlands.
After filing for bankruptcy earlier this year, former multi-billion dollar conglomerate SFX Entertainment announced that they will be auctioning off sub-companies Beatport and ticketing platform Flavorus. Additionally, sources suggest that Dutch heavyweights ID&T will undergo a ‘relatively painless’ exchange of hands, compared to the American brands which were auctioned off so far by the corporation.
More relevantly, according to Dutch media magazine ‘Quote,’ anonymous sources state that ID&T will be the next company to be let go of, including their sub-companies. In light of this, the sources did not offer any additional information as to what the new company’s ownership structure will be, sparking heavy discussion and debate amongst the dance community. Interestingly enough, the sources indicated that ID&T’s company structure would see the addition of Wouter Tavecchio and Jan Lok (co-founder of Q-Dance and founder of b2s).
With frequent updates on the situation in the media, it’s only a matter of time until we are updated with the current happenings on Hard Dance companies b2s and Q-Dance.
