Raving Together, Staying Together – Hard Love Story #1: Marloes and Mike

When falling in love with hard dance music, it’s certain you will fall into a paralell and mystical world which is incredibly hard to drag yourself out of. You can’t unsee what you’ve seen and participating in the ‘normal’ or otherwise ‘non-150BPM’ world is a struggle.
All of your usual preferances start to shift and fit in with the hard dance ‘lifestyle’ including where you will spend your Saturday night and even who you jump into bed with! Let’s hold that thought. Who you jump into bed with? Yes, quite literally and by this I’m talking more about relationships.

Believe it or not but your choice in music really does affect your choice in partner and many hard dance fans can vouch for this. You know what they say, “those whorave together, stay together” and today’s story is no exception to the rule! As we welcome two new writers to the Alive At Night team (who just so happen to be a very cute power-couple), they tell their story about how they fell in love with hardstyle and each other!

Marloes, the fiery redhead got in touch with hard beats during her high school years via her cousins music selections. Her first favourites were “Music Made Addict” by DBSTF and classic “Living For The Moment” by Ran-D which immediately sparked her interest in attending events and become more involved in the scene. With Club Matrixx right around the corner from her home, Marloes religiously attended the Xxlerator concept and fell more in love each time she stepped foot into the club. Apart from being accustomed to Xxlerator, Marloes also regularly visited the local youth centre which would throw parties and around 2 years ago, two young DJ’s began playing there and one caught her eye.

Mike, a (now) 23 year old hard dance fanatic also took interest in Marloes for being as crazy as he is, however, he thought that she was way out of his league! Let’s just hold it here as I tell you all a little bit about Mike… This wild Dutchie came in touch with hardstyle when his classmate lured him over to the dark side. Everything from the drive, hard kicks and melodies felt so epic and meshed perfectly with his outgoing personality. He was captured and life as he knew it would never be the same again… After visiting a ton of parties and becoming well-educated on the music, Mike began DJing and producing under the alias of Organized Chaos.

After getting to know each other and becoming close friends, the two began inevitably falling for each other to the point where they just HAD to make it official so at Hard Bass 2014, in the colossal GelreDome and underneath the stunning lightshow, Mike took the plunge and asked Marloes to be his girl. Of course she said YES and from then on, it’s been one hell of a love story for the two who regularly attend events together and co-exist with each other in the hard dance lifestyle.

It’s not only going to events and listening to hardstyle that the pair love – Marloes became so inspired by Mike being a DJ and producer that she even started her own alias DJ MarLoose! Helping each other out with mixing and in the studio, these two aren’t just a pair but a full-package power-couple! The fact that they share the same love and lifestyle as well as the desire to grow and learn on the technical side is incredible and is what makes Mike and Marloes’ relationship so unique.

“We will probably end up being that 70 year old couple partying hard at raves” Mike says. Nothing can keep this pair apart who are now living together, DJing together and being the hottest hardstyle couple!
