Young German producer Fabian Schmidt, or better known as Omegatypez has been experimenting with his productions in hardstyle that undoubtedly include with many different EDM influences. After releasing P.Y.H.U (and generating a huge hateful response from butthurt raw hardstyle fans), Omegatypez revealed that he was “sick and tired of pleasing crowds” and was wanting to move his own way and explore all possibilities with his production skills.
When we caught up with Omegatypez we asked him about his future was holding and he stated the following: “I’ve been really unsure lately in terms of my career in hardstyle. I know that I have some bookings and I will not let my fans down, however I have been experimenting quite a bit lately with other genres of music, especially deep house and techno.”
Claiming that he was hooked on the deep house sound when he heard Disclosure’s album “Settle” in 2013, he felt the need to explore the genre a little further and collaborate with artists such as Duke Dumont, Motez and yes, he is constantly bugging Headhunterz for a deep collaboration. After speaking about a few of his goals, we asked Fabian the one especially important question – how do you think your fans will react?
“To be quite honest, I think that it was a long time coming… I know that my fans probably expected me to move my sound to mainstream EDM, so it is probably a surprise that I’ve been making deep house. I’ve been experimenting for a while and tried to keep my deep sound a secret but I feel as though its finally time to unleash this chapter and just produce what I want to produce.”
Fabian went on to say “I have a lot of collaborations planned and I feel as though I can be creative when producing deep house. I will still make the odd hardstyle track here and there but I truly feel that my calling is deep house. I love my fans and I hope they understand my decision.”
Fabian is set to sign at Anjunadeep before the beginning of Summer!
We wish Omegatypez all the best of luck with his new venture of music!
