Like a die-hard: Five tips to get through 14 hours of raving at Q-BASE!
In a little over one week, all true ‘die-hards’ will gather to take on the holy grounds of Airport Weeze, as they suit up for combat at the 2017 edition of Q-BASE. If Q-BASE is known for one thing, it’s that this rave spreads over an ungodly duration of 14 hours! I mean, after embarking on sinful behaviour for a whole fourteen hours, you can even make it to a Sunday morning church service at 9AM – you may be sporting some epic pupils and rapid jaw movements though…
All aside from Q-BASE’s insane running time, the festival is also spread out over a colossal terrain with numerous stages, meaning that your fit-bit will be working overtime to calculate all those steps!
Ready, set, WAR! We’ve got five ultimate ‘die-hard’ survival tips to conquer Q-BASE like an absolute pro and pumping beyond sunrise!
#1. Get your party gear in order
To make it to the end, you have to get your party ‘gear’ in order. We’re calling it now – true success all begins with a pair of kick-ass shoes. Make sure you have comfortable but firm footwear; Nikes are almost always the go-to shoes in this case.
For those wanting to look their best, we recommend you bring a sexy get-up for the day-time hours and a sweater or pair of trackies for the cooler hours of the festival. It DOES get cold during the night and although guys love to see chicks with hard nipples, literally freezing your tits (or balls) off can be quite unpleasant.
Something awesome about Q-BASE is watching people dress up to fit the theme; we love spotting all of the crazy outfits and this year is no exception. Bring it, guys!
#2. Just eat it!
Unfortunately we’re not talking about pills here, but food. We know that a lot of our fellow ravers have a hard time eating during a festival, but when you’re pumping for fourteen hours straight, it’s smart to at least try stomach something to keep your energy levels up. To ensure maximum endurance, Q-dance ensures plenty of food stands that range from filling stomachs with everything from fruit to fries. And of course, for dessert you can always treat yourself with some candy… 😉
#3. Hydrate
Obviously you need to drink plenty of water, but why drink water when you can enjoy alcohol?! It doesn’t matter if it’s Bacardi, beer or wine that you’re into, just make sure you drink plenty of it.
#4. Find your fellow die-hards, use Woov!
Now that the EU has finally ditched roaming costs, you can now use your beloved 3G or 4G abroad. To find your friends and connect with others in a fun and easy way, you can use the new festival app Woov.
This app doesn’t just give you the option to find your cooked mate who disappeared to the Terror stage, but it also collects all the information you need to know about Q-BASE, before and during the festival!
#5. Die hard!
Festivals are always a tough recovery. It might cost you a few days or even weeks of your life to recuperate back to ‘human’ state, especially after a 14 hour rave, but hey, the scattered days on the couch are definitely worth it! So get excited with us and get ready, because the Alive at Night team will be going all in!
