Kick off the festival season the HARD way – Hardshock Festival 2017!
Are you planning on spending your Easter weekend stuffing your face with innumerable tiny chocolate eggs and immediately regretting it? How about you ditch your chocolate-eating marathon plans and instead spend your Easter Saturday raving for twelve hours straight underneath the (hopefully) gleaming sunlight at the beautiful Almere Strand!
With the month of April fast-approaching, it’s time to ditch your winter coats and begin pulling out your favourite festival items – because as soon as you know it, it’ll be time to exit hibernation state and enter the beloved utopia of summer.
One of the first festivals up to the plate of the 2017 summer festival season is the infamous Hardshock Festival. Since its conception in 2012, the Hardshock concept has not only been running successfully for five consecutive years, but has grown to conquer the Hardcore industry as one of the most significant events of the festival season. Boasting a supreme, overwhelming production, an extensive line-up of elite names and a devoted team behind the concept – these key ingredients are the driving forces ensuring that each and every visitor exits the festival with a massive smile on their face.
Evolving and expanding with every edition, by 2016 Hardshock was ready to spread its wings further as the concept made its move from Zwolle to Hardcore’s most infamous party-haven – Almere Strand. This edition set a whole new standard for Hardcore and although it proved hard to beat, High Energy Events were determined to cultivate in 2017!
If there’s one thing that Hardshock endorses, it’s showcasing the broad spectrum of Hardcore with an eclectic, all-pervading army of elite artists! These artists, spread across seven thumping arenas, are a depiction of Hardcore in its purest form. With the likes of Brutale, Radium, Promo, Ophidian and Decipher rocking the mainstage, the hardest hearts of Hardshock can also rock out to the underground beats of the ‘Voltage’ area, hosted by The Third Movement. For those who dig the classic ‘Italian’ sound, your prayers have been answered with the inclusion ‘Wired,’ by Hardcore Italia. All the old gabbers out there can hakk the day away at the Recharge area, or perhaps get their dose of Terror and Frenchcore in the brand new ‘Frequency’ area!
What I’m saying is that, regardless of your musical preferences, Hardshock has it all! Whether you’re a Terror-head, Uptempo fiend or lover of the classics, this diverse festival is designed to cater for each and every devoted fan with a love for Hardcore running through their veins!
With a little over one month until the big day, as you dust off your favourite pair of sneakers, you can literally feel the excitement building to a climax! Hang in there; the last couple of weeks of winter are tough as hell, but the moment you majestically strut through outdoor terrain is oh so sweet!
For those looking to celebrate their Easter weekend the HARD way (don’t worry, couch-potatoes can still spend their hungover Sunday eating chocolate eggs), look no further. For those on a ‘budget,’ you WILL regret not attending Hardshock this year; and besides, you’ll probably spend the 15th of April unnecessarily shopping online to consolidate your boredom – so weigh it up.

Where: Somewhere in Holland on what they call a ‘beach’, aka Almere Strand.
Who: Anyone who lives and breathes HARDCORE. Unless you’re under the age of 16, then you kiddies can go back to kindergarten and finger paint for another couple of years.
Why: Um, because I say so? No, but for reals, you won’t want to miss this festival.
