Get giving this festive season at ‘3FM Serious Request’
With ‘Sinterklaas’ (the Dutch santaclaus) and Christmas, the month December is always a period to think about relatives and others in the world. For once, the collectivistic feeling we love so much at festivals should also resonate within our everyday lives. Just as our two whitebeards are central to this period, charity and giving are also a centerpiece of cold winter month. And with that in mind, Dutch radio station 3FM has set up one of the biggest charity events in the Netherlands: Serious Request.
This year, 3FM Serious Request will be raising money in a fight against one of the most common killers in Africa: pneumonia. Sadly, every 35 seconds this disease costs another child’s life. With the right treatment and health education available, it will be possible prevent a large amount of the 900.000 young children from losing their lives to this disease.
So what should you do to help? Just do what you are doing best: Party!!!
On the 10th of December, in Dynoma Eindhoven, a Hard Request 2016 will be held to raise as much money for this charity subject as it can. Artists like Alphaverb, Avana and Psyched will all be performing to fight against the silent killer pneumonia. All the proceedings from the night will be donated to 3FM Serious Request 2016. So if you are still wondering what to do on the 10th of December… get your asses down to Hard Request and show them why we are called one of the most caring scenes in the world!!!
