Festival Fashion Series: Part 3 – For The Boys.
**Disclaimer: Featured image by Voena**
For all of our lovely hardstyle loving boys (or girls) who opened up this article, let me start by saying “Welcome!” Welcome to the third and final part of our three part “Festival Fashion Series,” this segment is especially dedicated to all the raving males out there who want to dress themselves in a prime manner. In our previous segment “Festival Fashion Series: Part 2 – For The Girls,” we outlined some great buys for the ladies and some great outfit combinations. Now it wouldn’t have been fair if we didn’t give the guys a well rounded look at fashion, so here we are! In our first segment “Festival Fashion Series: Part 1 – An Overall Look,” (c’mon, give it a click) we outlined fact that ravers of an utmost dedicated nature will attend approximately 96 parties per year, which equates to two parties every single weekend! This only means one thing, you need a fuck-load of sweet outfits to wrap yourselves in!
Taking a deeper look at the importance of festival fashion, we listed a few basic fashion rules that have been carried on (mostly) throughout the years in order to lay down the foundations and get started on some sweet clothing deals for both the ladies and fellas!
So boys, let me start off by asking – have you noticed that a lot of your favourite artists are working on their image and dressing more fashionably for press photos and at gigs? You see, with growth and maturity within the hardstyle scene, the image changes too and although it is ‘all about the music,’ it’s always nice to feel a true wave of confidence with yourself whilst at events (it accounts for a better time partying).
Without further adieu, let’s get started on a little fashion adventure that won’t cost you a festival ticket!
First of all, let’s keep in mind that there are a few particular items of clothing that you can repetitively wear and switch around, this will be explained further within the article, of course!

1. Swapping ‘The Awkward Pants’:
It may have been okay when you were 13 to pull off camouflage pants that rested somewhere between your ankles and knees, however according to the world of fashion, mid-length baggy camo is a no-no! There are some alternatives however, such as knee-length or above the knee shorts and if you insist on a mid-length then I suggest chinos or ankle cut jeans.

Skinny Chino Straight Stretch Chino
2. There’s more to life than fake leather…
As a highly mentioned rule throughout this series, although some DJ’s think that leather directly correlates to a high swag level, we beg to differ. Unless you are Kurt Cobain and wear nothing underneath that jacket and walk around with scruffy hair and a cigarette hanging out of your mouth, then I doubt that ‘fake leather’ is a good way to up your swag.
Some of our alternatives include: Basic hoodies, denim jackets (for the real hipsters, or Australians…) throwover sweaters and cord jackets. Check out some great buys below!

3. Doing singlets right:
Yes we know, you’ve been shredding for Defqon.1 since the conclusion of last year’s edition and unless you want to look like you’ve walked off the set of Geordie Shore Season 1 then there’s absolutely no need for stringy singlets. You can still show off your shredded biceps with a normal looking singlet.

4. What the hat?
Sorry trucker hats, but you serve one purpose, staying in 2007. There’s a whole world of hat alternatives out there and our true favourite is the five panel style. Check out some of our favourites below!

5. T-shirts don’t have to be boring…
We love t-shirts! They’re one of the most practical inventions on this planet, especially for pasty people who get burnt shoulders easily. However, for those of you who are stocked up on plain colours and want to look a little further, you should try out some patterns! Tee these patterned t-shirts up with plain jeans or shorts and some plain coloured shoes and you’re ready for some action!

6. Guys can wear sunglasses too!
Boys, throw out those aviators that you’ve had since you were 12 and take pride in eyewear! The blazing sun can put strain on your eyes and if you want to cover up those dilated pupils or rolling eyes in style then check out some of our picks!

7. The very best in denim:
Finding good quality jeans or shorts for a reasonable price can be like finding a needle in a haystack, but have no fear as Cheap Monday is here! We cannot stress enough the importance of owning a pair of these, they’re super comfortable, washable, they look great and they are so worth the low price! If you want something more expensive or exquisite, we have dug up some other jeans that may tickle your fancy!
