Energyzed – Interview At The Hardstyle 2000 Countdown

Scantraxx Record Label Showcase.

From the 28th of December until the 4th of January, Revulsion FM has done the honourable task of putting on the biggest countdown show consisting of the top 2000 hardstyle tracks of all time! This week isn’t only about the countdown however, there’s a lot to keep your eye on such as interviews, guest mixes and who could forget about the label showcases!

On Saturday, the 3rd of January we were accompanied by the lovely team from Scantraxx Records for three hours of madness! I had the pleasure of catching up with upcoming duo, Energyzed to have a quick chat about life at Scantraxx, working with Atmozfears and their plans for 2015!

1. Thanks for the set guys! How was that with MC Da Syndrome up there?
It was a lot of fun! Of course it’s always a lot of fun to play but it’s very different in a studio without a crowd, but it was great anyway with MC Da Syndrome.

2. Great! So first of all, what did you guys eat for breakfast?
Jordy: I had muesli… cruesli… Fuck it, I had crunchy muesli.
Xander: I only had a banana.

3. Yum… Okay, now to the music, what does it mean for you to be a part of Scantraxx records?
It has always been a dream of ours. When we were younger we really looked up the big guys releasing on Scantraxx such as Headhunterz, Wildstylez and Noisecontrollers and it is such a dream come true to be releasing our music now on the label.

4. So how did you guys meet and begin working together?
Xander: We met on an internet forum and listened to each others music. Jordy was one of the better producers on the forum so began talking on Skype and eventually we did a collab which went very well. Our vision of hardstyle really fit together so we ended up working together and Energyzed was formed!

5. I noticed that your sound is quite euphoric and uplifting. Before you guys came together, did you both have different sounds?
Xander: Well Jordy was more about the darker sounds from the past, however I was more about the euphoric sounds such as Noisecontrollers and I pulled him in a little bit to begin listening to artists such as Wildstylez and eventually he really enjoyed melodic sounding tracks.

6. Also, being a part of Scantraxx, do you get lots of support from the artists at Scantraxx and give each other feedback?
Yes, we have feedback from Atmozfears mostly as he is a close friend of ours. However, we receive support from artists on the label such as Adrenalize, Devin Wild and Audiotricz which is great! 🙂

7. I know that you guys have worked with Atmozfears previously in the studio and he also played your new track “Stay – ft. Debrah Jade” at Qlimax last year – what was the feeling when you heard your track being played?
It was really awesome, especially because we were standing in the crowd. In combination with the production and the crowd, it was just amazing to hear our track at such a large scale production.

8. Speaking of new tracks, have you guys been working on some new material for 2015?
Yes, we have a new release coming up in a few days. We have a new collab coming up with Atmozfears too! So keep your eyes on these.

9. What are your main inspirations when producing music?
Our biggest inspiration so far is Noisecontrollers. His creativity and unique techniques to producing music is something we really aspire to.

10. Finally, what track do you think will be number 1in the hardstyle 2000?
We think that Noisecontrollers – Down Down will win.
