Classic Feels: Theracords creates new sub-label Theracords Classics

Renowned for their killer slogan, ‘music produced from the heart,’ every die-hard would know that Theracords always sticks to their word! Whether displayed through their mother label or sub-label AVIO, Theracords strives to represent all corners of Hardstyle with a family feeling like no other!

For the observant fans, some of you would’ve noticed that recently head honcho DJ Thera has taken a special liking to the earlier sounds, which is seen in some of his recent tracks and of course, during his exclusive ‘classics set’ alongside Geck-o at Q-BASE. Now, taking another huge leap in his career, Thera has recently announced that Theracords will now be represented by a brand new sub-label devoted to the beloved earlier sounds!

Going by the name Theracords Classics, Thera stated that the idea behind the label came about when he felt immense impact from the crowd during classic sets with Geck-o: “I felt that even more people were enjoying that typical classic Theracords now, compared to when it was completely new. Furthermore, I still think it’s a shame that there’s simply no one bringing out music like this, so why not do it ourselves?!”

On this brand-new label, the releases will be created by T.C.C; this stands for Theracords Classics Collective, which is the group artist name used for all of the releases on the label. When asked for to provide any clues of who’s a part of T.C.C, Thera revealed that “pretty much all of the artists from the first years of Theracords and Therabyte are involved.” Hold up, this is huge – talk about hopping on board the feels train, or should we say soul train…? This anonymous edge is designed that listeners won’t know who’s behind the tracks, making it literally all about the music!

Everybody loves a good classic, but how will T.C.C. pay tribute to the ‘classic’ aspect, yet create fresh and new music? Good question and Thera had an even better answer!

“It all starts with the production process; using plugins you used during that period and most importantly sticking to the good old reverse bass and gated kicks! However, with the current technology, mixdowns and mastering can be done cleaner and more effective – that way you maintain the classic feel, yet also have a newer feel to it. It’s all about keeping the classic sounds in mind and having fun in the studio!”

For those who witnessed Thera and Geck-o’s unforgettable classics set at Q-BASE, they actually dropped “Hostile Environment,” which is the first release on Theracords Classics, scheduled to drop after the Theracords Classics event on the 22nd of October.

Party time? Hell yeah!

Held in The Dome in Arnhem, this is the very first Theracords Classics event and some big surprises are ensured! With Thera stating that “most classic events revolve around certain years and for some reason our first Theracords years aren’t really fitting with those events,” the Theracords team was soon inspired to create their own concept! Revealing that he will be starting the night off with a special Therabyte set, other unmissable acts include Catatonic Overload, Thera b2b with Geck-o and Delete, who will be closing the night with Theracords and Spoontech classics.

“The aim of Theracords Classics is for us producers to have loads of fun creating tracks in this style and to let people enjoy it as much as possible! I feel as though there’s a lack of music like this, and with Theracords Classics we will bring it. We’ll provide music that the world listens to and enjoys!”
