Chinese astrologists marked 2015 as the ‘year of the goat,’ however in our world, the world of hardstyle, 2015 has been marked as the ‘year of albums.’ From Audiofreq to Noisecontrollers and Wildstylez, artists have been digging at their creative souls to bring a selection of music that showcases their technical abilities. We’re not going to lie, we had a little bit of trouble selecting this months ‘Artist Of The Month,’ but we finally made our choice and we feel as though these guys deserve a huge amount of credit…
Their music can be described as extremely powerful, emotionally grasping, style bending and even slightly quirky. This dynamic Dutch duo are known for some unexpectedly huge tracks such as “Fire In The Hole,” “Music Rules The Noize,” “Who” with Endymion and “Liberal” with Josh & Wesz…
Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you, the artist of the month for May 2015 – Phuture Noize!
At a ripe young age, in 2011, Marco Spronk and Antoine Kraaij burst into the scene when they sent their demo’s to Deepack, who in turn happened to gain a huge interest in them, allowing Phuture Noize to release their earliest works “Easy Killer,” “Sleep” and “Fire In The Hole” on their former label ‘Hardcopy Records’. After the discontinuation of Hardcopy Records and their small shift to Dirty Workz, Phuture Noize really settled their names in the pavement with the release of their first album “Music Rules The Noize” which generated a tremendous response within the hardstyle scene. “Music Rules The Noize” was an incredible album as it showcased a strong signature sound that had developed so early on in Phuture Noize’s career. From this album, the guys became renowned for using a creative and freshly innovative approach to broaden the boundaries of the conventional ‘raw hardstyle’ sound. Heavily inspired by many musical genres, especially drum and bass, this duo is known to generate a powerful and undying energy with every track they create.
Their unique approach to sound design has scored the guys some well-deserved collaborations with some of the scene’s pioneers such as Ran-D, Endymion and Hard Driver which will all be featured on their upcoming album “Phuture Propaganda.” These guys have proved that they can work with any style; they even collaborated with Omegatypez and the end result for “Don’t Give Up” was a bangin’ track full of reverse bass!
In recent years with the rise of raw hardstyle and the cohort of crappy tracks that all sounds the same, Phuture Noize have been staying true to their ‘hipster’ sound that consists of euphoric inspired melodies and huge atmospheres, yet still packs a punch with crunchy kicks and raw components.
Some newer tracks off their album such as “Hope,” “Terrordome,” “Who” with Endymion showcase that ‘hipster raw’ sound with unusual and unexpected chords and sounds, a solid progression from the beginning to the end that tells a story and of course, it makes you feel something – which is something that a lot of music today is lacking. Long story short – Phuture Noize and their music is severely underrated and I ‘hope’ (lol) that with their new album, they will be placed on more appropriate stages and not just shoved into that ‘raw’ corner.
Speaking of stages, these dudes have climbed their way to perform at some of the most prestigious events such as Q-BASE, The Qontinent, Defqon.1, Hard Bass, Loudness, Reverze, Rebirth and many more! You can also catch Phuture Noize at various events this Summer, so be sure to be immersed in their ‘propaganda’ and check out one of their performances!
“Phuture Propaganda” is set to be released at the end of May, but for now, you can check out their album mini-mixes to get a feel of the three components:
– To Hypnotize
– To Corrupt
– To Govern
