A formidable army of mobster champions, the Midnight Mafia’s powers range an impressive width of styles, from the fast paced intensity of hardcore, to the power and euphoria of hardstyle. Together, they represent the return to the era of classic overnight raves. The Midnight Mafia has issued the invitation to all of their soldiers, be there for a family meeting. Your attendance is not negotiable. Otherwise, you will need to answer to… The Godfather.

An Italian hardstyle legend, who better to assume the role of Godfather than renown veteran Technoboy? With a career spanning both years and continents, his experience and ability is unquestionable. There is no doubt that when he arrives in Sydney with the Midnight Mafia, the city will be taken.

In the lead up to the big day, I was able to catch up with Technoboy for a moment with the Midnight Mafia…

1.) In ‘The Godfather’, Don Corleone talks about making an ‘offer he can’t refuse’. What’s one thing you’re never able to say no to?
A real Napoletana-Pizza. You can wake me up in the middle of the night for it!

2.) You’ve been a DJ for quite a while and have released music under a lot of different aliases. Why do you use so many?
Simply because I didn’t feel every track I produced had a total Technoboy personality. Even though I love them all, only a few of them are fitting me at 100%. That’s why I created aliases.

3.) Without giving too much away, what can the crowd expect from your set at Midnight Mafia?
That’s a good question. I never plan/planned anything through my entire “on stage” experiences for almost 15 years. So I’ll be curious about myself as much as the crowd will be!

4.) You’ve played all over the world, from the US to here in Australia with HSU, to Defqon.1 in the Netherlands and everywhere in-between. What’s the next big step for you?
I’d love to play in Japan!

5.) Where do see hardstyle being in 5 years time?
Hopefully worldwide!
