30 Years Of Devotion – A timeline of The Prophet

Coming into the ’30 Years The Prophet’ celebration, it seemed like a perfect time to honour the ‘Godfather’ of Hardstyle by creating a timeline of his countless achievements within Hard Dance music… 

• 1983 – It all begins

After discovering the joy a pair of turntables could bring, Dov began DJing in 1983 and after perfecting his mixing skills he began spinning Disco and Hip Hop at various parties throughout Amsterdam.

• 1988 – Discovered the ‘holy’ House music

The Prophet came into contact with House after being asked to spin at a strictly-House music event. With a zest to display something unique on the night, Dov spent a lot of his time creating music with synthesizers and samplers, which led to a successful performance that paved the way for his career.

• 1991 – The Dreamteam

Some of our older readers may be well-acquainted with this infamous group, but for those who aren’t, The Dreamteam was one of the most iconic acts in the ‘gabber’ movement. Performing at several large-scale events, it wasn’t long until The Prophet rose to conquer an impressive status in the Hardcore scene.

• 2000 – Life at 150

After his immense success in the Hardcore world, The Prophet’s hands soon fell into working with lower BPM’s and combining classic elements from Hard House, Trance and Hardcore as he literally gave birth to the genre we know as Hardstyle.

• 2002 – Scantraxx Rootz

Embarking on his next career journey, in 2002 a great idea became reality when Dov opened the doors to Scantraxx Recordz. It wasn’t long until this record label became home to pioneering names such as Headhunterz, Wildstylez, Frontliner, D-Block & S-te-Fan and many more!

• 2003 – An honour like no other…

In 2003, The Prophet was given one of the biggest tasks that any Hard Dance artist could ever fathom – producing the Qlimax anthem! The result “Follow The Leader” is a track that’s the epitome of old-school, funky fresh Hardstyle!

• 2006 – X-Qlusive: The Prophet

On the 28^th of January, The Prophet fulfilled one of his biggest dreams – filling up the Heineken Music Hall in Amsterdam for his very own X-Qlusive event!

• 2006 – 2010 – Classics, classics & more classics!

It was during these years which The Prophet unleashed some of his most legendary productions to date! Who could forget hit tracks such as “Stampuhh!!” with Deepack, “Cocain Bizznizz,” “Chubby,” “Summer Of Hardstyle” as Proppy and Heady and “Psycho Ex” with Technoboy feat. Shayla?!

• 2011 – “Pitch Black”

In 2011, The Prophet created the anthem for the infamous Sensation Black, which is Sensation White’s ‘evil,’ and way cooler twin.

• 2012 – 10 Years of Scantraxx!

How time flies when you’re having fun! To celebrate 10 successful years of Scantraxx Recordz, The Prophet organised one of the craziest, most memorable bashes to date which saw the label selling out the colossal Heineken Music Hall! 10 Years of Scantraxx was also accompanied by a kick-ass world tour that extended to all corners of the globe.

• 2013 – “H3Y!”

“Can you feel the bass?!” – in 2013 The Prophet released hit-track “H3Y,” which climbed the charts and claimed its respectful spot amongst the Hardstyle scene.

• 2014 – We want it LOUDER!

In 2014, Dov dropped an immense album, titled “LOUDER.” This eclectic body of work paid respects to his past as well as showcasing his current musical vision and looking forth into the future. Proving as an unstoppable force, strong productions such as “Tracking The Beat,” “I’m The King” with Adaro and Bass Modulators’ remix of “One Moment” set the standard.

• 2015 – A year of music

Music-wise, 2015 was one of the greatest years for Dov, who released a handful of stellar tunes to keep his fans dancing throughout the year! Exploring the vast spectrum of Hardstyle, The Prophet released funky reverse-bass tunes “Mixmaster” and “Reverse Bass,” soaked up euphoric vibes with “Flute” opened himself up to the Freestyle movement with “Here We Go!” and went full-blown raw in “Till I Die.”

• 2015 – A mentor for the next generation

Scantraxx Recordz is undoubtedly one of the most encouraging platforms for new talent to thrive on. Discovering the likes of Devin Wild, Energyzed, Noiseshock, Adrenalize, JNXD and many more, The Prophet has helped the careers of these youngsters slide onto the path to success!

• 2016 – A true legend!

Although the scene was thrown into a fevered state when Headhunterz made his triumphant return to the Defqon.1 stage, the most heart-warming part was interviewing the Defqon.1 Legends and hearing Headhunterz state that he owes a lot of his success to The Prophet. He’s a true legend through his music and in creating countless opportunities within the scene.

30 Years The Prophet!

On the 12^th of November, The Prophet will be celebrating his 30 Year career and you’re all invited! Seeing as Alive At Night is approaching the 8,000 Facebook fan milestone, we figured, heck, why not give something back to our loyal fans?
