#TBT – Hardstyle’s biggest ‘lols’
In the world of hardstyle, online situations and internet breaking events have been occurring since the beginning of time. When I say ‘internet breaking’ your minds probably drift no further than Kim Kardashians over-sized and oiled up ass, however we all know that she’s just a huge botox fiend and an attention seeker. Hardstyle artists who’ve broken the internet (in most cases) weren’t doing it intentionally, which is why it makes it so fucking funny sometimes. Over the years, we collected a few of the many lols and decided to treat them to our readers as a special #TBT. Of course there’s many more than what we listed, so feel free to share some more ‘lol’ scenarios in the comments below!
14. When Atmozfears thought he was making the Decibel 2015 anthem… but actually wasn’t…
This kid must have seriously wanted to do the Decibel anthem so badly that he just didn’t give a fuck and did it anyway… All jokes aside, we still are confused as f*ck when it comes to the difference between this so called #DB15 ‘soundtrack’ stuff that was in the trailer and the actual anthem by Hard Driver. I’m not sure if Atmozfears sat on the b2s’s doorstep because he was dying to do the anthem and then they just said “Oh hey, sorry m8 but we already promised Hard Driver but we can put it in the trailer to troll with everyone for fun.” If anyone understands this ‘soundtrack’ bullshit, please enlighten me because this ‘article’ didn’t make any fucking sense either.
13. Mandy Shitstorm:
Earlier this year, social media was undoubtedly a rough water for one particular female artist, Mandy, which served as a big lol for angry fans out there who got their knickers in a knot just because “she’s a girl.” For days on end, all I saw on social media were discussions about Mandy, her sucking dick for fame and the whole ‘I’m a bedroom producer, why didn’t I get signed?” Other artists were stepping in and showing their support in order to diffuse the situation, however the wrath of the angry fan were the comments that stood out.
If anything, the negative comments and debate worked in her favour, allowing her to build a huge fanbase with over 10 thousand Facebook followers, a shit-ton of Instagram followers and so forth. I guess the plethora of support and great bookings she’s getting is a huge ‘fuck you’ to all of the keyboard warriors who should be working on their technique or image more. Months later, the boss bitch Mandy is on her second release and the hate has inevitably subsidised, however there’s still a few dickheads who will always have something negative to say.
12. Scooter the cheeky cunt and epic thief:
Oops, sorry Scooter but you got caught out. This video says enough…
11. Danielle Mondello & Express Viviana:
OK so let’s get one thing straight: Danielle Mondello is proably one of the most amazing vinyl-DJ’s this scene has, had over will ever have. The guy is a legend, a damn genius behind the turntables and he played even played Qlimax in 2003, as well as other legendary gigs and his girl Express Viviana (married since 2003) isn’t too shabby in DJing either. But well, let’s remember the weird things too. Besides the fact that they both once signed up to play along in a Italian version of “Big Brother” and also an all-time favorite in all things hardstyle and cringe-worthy – his video for “Love Is Around To Me” (yes, that’s the actual title).
While the track itself is something that sounds like a amateur produced after his first month into production, the video and the vocals are the actual gems in this “piece of art.” The video, which is held in a quite weird home-video aesthetic, seems to tell us the story about Danielle and Vivana. Symbolized by children, they meet and fall in love and spend the rest of their life together. It’s adorable, but the cringe is so hard that it’s physically uncomfortable to watch. Furthermore: Lots of awkward running and other activities, weird “spinning each other around”, horrible camera angles and video editing that reminds one of Dad’s first tries with Microsoft Movie Maker. The combination of home video and amateur track continues for a while, and by a certain time the viewer is not sure if the discomfort is still bearable. But wait, there’s more: The video and the cringe reach their absolute highlight when both DJ’s are standing next to the singer “air-scratching” CDJs, while the gramatically incorrect lyrics just go on and on. Just… beautiful. Remember kids: “We have together the world… the love are around to us!”
10. HHZ stacking it at Q-Dance presents: Hard With Style
Oh Heady… Now this guy has experienced more fails, stacks, lol moments than most other artists in the hardstyle scene. During this beautiful moment at Q-Dance presents: Hard With Style, Heady jumped up on the decks thinking he was unstoppable, praised the crowd then on his way down had an unfortunate fall. However, he brushed it off with a smile, kept dancing around and continued his set.
9. The Gostosa fail:
Gostosa. The “Fine Lady…” Who remembers? We sure do.
8. HHZ on pingas:
If any artist has experienced some embarrassing moments, it’s Headhunterz, but this time he kind of asked for it. Being back in his early days, Heady was probably just having a sick time and wanted to pop a cheeky pinga without anyone noticing… Thing is, people noticed… All around the fucking world. I’m all for artists living their life and doing drugs if they really want to, but in front of thousands of people who can see your grinding jaw and in front of kids who look up to you, it’s probably not the smartest thing to do. Heady mate, you could have waited until AFTER your interview…

7. Radical Redemption getting punched in the face by a police officer:
Although this 2 metre tall hardstyle heavyweight made it clear to NOT FUCK WITH THE RADICAL, the pow-lice clearly had some other ideas in their head. After seeing a police officer hit his friend in the face at one of the many Carnaval celebrations occurring in The Netherlands, Radical decided to take his phone out and film the rest of the situation. With a phone in his hand and a hand belonging to a police officer came flying out of nowhere and hit him square in the face. Taking this video to the heights of social media, Mr. Radical was aiming to possibly find the shitcunt officer who did it so he could file a complaint against him.
Video below:

The man said it, seriously don’t fuck with the Radical or prepare to ‘DIE BITCH!’
6. Global Hardstyle Forum hacking Headhunterz’ website:
– “Me, being innocent and deep in spiritual thought…” – HHZ
Around five years ago GlobalHardstyleForum closed it’s virtual doors. What has been passed on as “The Legend Of ScuL, the Hater” to the new generation, was quite real for those of us who roamed the cyberspace looking for people who also liked hardstyle. GHF was the biggest forum next to ScreamerHardstyle, also phpBB-based that had a cool portal and some really cool people on it.
When Hardstyle took the turn from “Reverse-Bass Only” towards the “Hardkick10-age,” around 2006/07, the main admin of GHF, ScuL, was not really amused. ScuL started banning people who even mentioned Headhunterz, all his releases were banned from being talked about and all “nu-style traitors” were under ScuL’s ban-hammer. Even the renowned DJ Thera was banned from the forum for posting a picture of himself and Headhunterz, mind you ScuL viewed Thera as his god so that was kind of awkward…
Somewhere in the middle of all the heady-bashing (deja-vu anyone?) Headhunterz’ website was hacked.
The hack: A pornographic, photo-shopped picture with homoerotic content. Not cool. As the shitstorm continued, it was soon clear that GHF had become virtual hellhole. Sick of GHF, former members founded the new international forum Harderstate and a lot of dutch members migrated to Hardtraxx. Both forums are to be considered the biggest online communities for hardstyle right now and both are places where a opinion can be expressed without having to fear the ban-hammer for your taste in music.
5. When Thryon got booted from Fusion:
Formerly signed to Fusion Records, upcoming producer Thyron could have had it all… He was in the final stages of releasing his album, he had a dedicated and supportive fan-base, but most of all, his idols that he had been looking up to for years took a special interest in his productions. However, he ruined it for himself after engaging in activity that caused a huge conflict and trust issues between himself, B-Front and The Pitcher. Not sure what the fuck this kid was thinking when he fucked with two of Fusion’s biggest artists…
The biggest lol was the fact that he thought anybody in the music industry would be able to trust him again. That’s going to take many years, and a lot of sucking up. We don’t care how good your album was, being an artist means being an all-round genuine and reliable person who takes their music seriously and would never, ever do anything to remotely screw it up. Maybe the best thing is to put this all down to the fact that he was so young and probably not personally ready for a serious career in music. Maybe in the future, kid.
4. Wildstylez & deadmau5 saga:
What sounded like a perfectly amazing Wildstylez track faced a huge public speculation and backlash from one the most notorious online ranters, deadmau5. The beginning chords of “Straightforward” clearly showed some similarities to “Some Chords” but Wildstylez went on to explain that he was actually inspired by the chords in Booty Luv’s “Boogie 2Nite.” Despite Wildstylez calm attitude and attempts to diffuse the situation, deadmau5 still wasn’t taking no for an answer and was determined to start an all-out Twitter war.
Status & Twitter feed: https://twitter.com/deadmau5/status/436567396544176128
As the hardstyle community is one of closeness, this matter sparked the attention of many budding producers and fans who instantaneously jumped into the debate and gave deadmau5 a deserving dose of troll. Deadmau5 then decided to do the ‘troll of all trolls’ and live-stream himself attempting to make a hardstyle track. Under the impression that hardstyle was an easy genre to produce, the inevitable happened and deadmau5 was struggling… Under scrutiny by the majority of the hardstyle scene, including some of the biggest producers who watched him make typical rookie errors, deadmau5 eventually crumbled and closed the project.
For your enjoyment, here is one of the biggest lols that hardstyle has seen to date. Deadmau5’s parody, “Dat Kick Doe” was more painful than listening to speedcore for 1o hours straight and to put it plainly, it made him look like a massive pleb and only encouraged hardstyle fans to show their support to Wildstylez.
Now, let’s never speak of this again.
3. “Hardstyle Bitches…” #mumsformainstage
“Once upon a time, there were two bitches… That were very, very bad… These are the hardstyle bitches…”
One of the biggest lols to sweep through 2015 was undoubtedly the infamous ‘hardstyle bitches’ saga. Two estranged party-mums who have their heads trapped in their 20’s seemed to think it would be a great idea to almost bribe people with a pretty sweet prize. With the two tracks being on par with deadmau5’s attempt at hardstyle, these bad bitches ran a competition to win a Pioneer DJ set if people brought their tracks – sounded like a pretty sweet deal, right? When I listened to their tracks, I had to ask myself – “are these bitches taking the piss or what?” But no, apparently they were dead serious on a career in hardstyle…
To jog your memory of this hilarious scenario, check out the trailer below.

2. When Showtek left:
*Warning* – For those STILL posting those stupid memes saying “waiting for Showtek to come back to hardstyle” with a picture of a decayed skeleton, I suggest you don’t bother reading this basically because you’ll never fucking wrap your head around the fact that Showtek is NEVER coming back…. EVER! Showtek were undoubtedly viewed as hardstyle gods back in the day; I mean, if it weren’t for them then “FTS” and the rest of their discography would never exist. However due to an unfortunate dose of ketamine and a bad trip, they have been hooked on cheesy big room house ever since and find that hardstyle triggers the bad trip... Just kidding….
I kind of wish that they left hardstyle on the grounds of hallucinogenics, but in reality it all came down to losing interest in the genre and finding love and satisfaction within other avenues of music.
Nowadays, Showtek makes the extremely rare appearance such as their huge surprise at X-Qlusive legends in 2014 and they regularly drop “FTS” towards the end of their house sets.
1.”Where Did I Go Wrong?”
“Pam pada bim pada boom, I was feeling all right… Pam pada bim pada boom, yeah I blew it tonight…”
The biggest ‘lol’ and one of the things that almost broke the internet in 2013 was Blutonium Boy’s track and video-clip combo for “Where Did I Go.” From everything to the random guy playing the guitar to the dancer in the cage, hardstyle fans felt a little trolled and scratched their heads wondering whether this was a huge joke. Some listeners called it a disgrace to hardstyle (which is kind of slack) and some named it ‘track of the year,’ regardless, this video manages to put a smile on my face every single time.
I have come to the conclusion that Blutonium Boy could very well be the Darude of hardstyle, except without the ‘Sandstorm… ‘
So, there you have it; a short rundown on some of hardstyle’s most cringe-worthy and lol-some moments. Seeing as these moment are only just a handful in hardstyle’s history, if you would like to share more lol moments, feel free to comment below!

So you defend Mandy and claim there’s still “Dickheads” that talk shit but agree Gostosa is a hack? LOL.. Mandy is a Gostosa and despite the attempt to point out her second album and 10,000 FB fans (sorry but that isn’t shit) her career is already headed down the dumpster. Hot chicks having tracks Ghost produced for them will always be bullshit, everyone would love Mandy if she actually made her music, that’s all these “dickheads” ask is that people actually make their own shit.
Funny article though.
I agree to a point, however the majority of Mandy insults were based on her gender and not the fact that she, like Gostosa, is ghosted.
What a great article! Was surprised to see you include the Thyron “incident” as many people don’t know about that. It’s nice to see an article written by someone who i can see is an actual hardstyle fan, a nice contrary to the cringe worthy articles written by large EDM websites.
I hope this site receives more coverage.
Thanks, Brad.
