#TBT – A well deserved tribute to Scope DJ’s “Househeads”
In order to appreciate what you have today, it’s important to look into the past and oh, how we love digging up old classics to spice up your Thursday! Nowadays, there’s so many new and talented artists climbing the ladder to success, but sometimes this comes at the expense of replacing former established names who rocked the scene before the ‘modern’ sound was embraced.
Scope DJ is an example of an artist who sadly, has fallen underneath the radar, however his legacy is still celebrated during his performances at almost every Early Hardstyle concept. And with that in mind, we thought it was time to feature one of his biggest hits as our #TBT. Let’s show our appreciation for his 2010 hit “Househeads.”
The first time I heard “Househeads,” I’d heard the 2012 remix and was stunned! Pushing into the era of modernness, this track was something so refreshing for that time and not to mention, catchy as fuck. Just like the original, the 2012 remix also contained a pounding, flavoursome reverse bass and of course, the ‘househeads, where you at?!’ vocal. After listening to the 2012 mix, I acquainted myself with the original and pure awesomeness was delivered straight to my eardrums. That majestic melody was stuck in my head for days on end and the progressive nature of the track was simply intriguing.
Big ups to Scope DJ – we miss you!
