#TBT – A well deserved tribute to “Raw To The Floor” by Evil Activities & The Viper.

Following the heart-warming positivity generated around our first #TBT tribute last week where we dug up and reviewed Geck-o’s 2012 hit “Soul Train,” we thought that it would be nice to pay our respects to ‘older’ releases more regularly!

So, without further adieu, we’re delighted to present an unforgettable track from 2008 that has stolen our #TBT title and is also one of our all-time favourites here at Alive At Night. Our chosen masterpiece is a far cry from last week’s Hard Trance/Hardstyle crossover as we’re cranking up the BPM, pushing extremes and entering brutal territory!

Every Hardcore enthusiast can agree that both The Viper and Evil Activities are among the best producers in the genre and are absolute legends in the scene. Not only do both of them boast an unprecedented discography, but both guys are also amongst the longest standing names in Hardcore – they’ve been releasing kick-ass tunes for almost 20 years!

Evil Activities and The Viper aren’t a pair that’s known to collaborate often, however their 2008 track “Raw To The Floor” had such a huge impact on Hardcore and despite being released eight years ago, it still demolishes dance floors whenever it’s dropped. Released on Evil Activities’ “Evilution,” I personally feel that this was one of the biggest stand-outs of the album; the melody is extraordinary is one of the most memorable melodies in Hardcore. Any die-hard can vouch that this track was game-changing, innovative and fresh and for those who aren’t into the genre, let me assure you that your perceptions of Hardcore are about to shift!

There’s no doubt in my mind that “Raw To The Floor” will still be an influential Hardcore track in another eight years! It’s time to bring up some memories – click ‘play’ below and enjoy this week’s #TBT tribute!
