RAVING at an abandoned nuclear power plant? – Shutdown Festival 2017!
There’s just something so thrilling about raving on obscure terrain. We’ve been there and done that at unused airports and military bases, but an abandoned nuclear plant? Never! That’s all about to change on the 26th of August, 2017, when Austria puts its name on the map with a revolutionary new Hardstyle festival – Shutdown Festival!
Held at the historical, deactivated nuclear power plant in Zwentendorf, Austria, which was built in 1972 but never used, Shutdown Festival will have a uniquely industrial ambience to it. Held from midday to midnight, this new addition to our summer schedules will be perfect for die-hard ravers!
Hardstyle in Austria has surely been on the rise over the past few years. After numerous successful Q-dance and Pussy Lounge hostings at prominent weekender Electric Love Festival, it was inevitably time for the Austrians to take the next step in developing their scene – and the addition of Shutdown Festival is certainly an exciting leap! As a sister festival of Electric Love, Shutdown will be home to a broad range of sounds, including Hardstyle, Raw, Freestyle and Hardcore!
Alright, I’m in – sign me up! On Thursday, March 9th, tickets for Shutdown Festival will go on sale, so mark your calendars and save those pennies!
