Festival Fashion Series: Part II – For The Girls
For those ladies (or even dudes) who opened up this article, let me start by saying “Welcome!” Welcome to the second part of our three part “Festival Fashion Series,” this segment is especially dedicated to all the raving ladies out there who want to dress themselves in a prime manner. In our previous segment “Festival Fashion Series: Part 1 – An Overall Look,” (c’mon, give it a click) we outlined fact that ravers of an utmost dedicated nature will attend approximately 96 parties per year, which equates to two parties every single weekend! This only means one thing, you need a fuck-load of sweet outfits to wrap yourselves in!
Taking a deeper look at the importance of festival fashion, we listed a few basic fashion rules that have been carried on (mostly) throughout the years in order to lay down the foundations and get started on some sweet clothing deals for both the ladies and fellas!
So ladies, buckle up as I will take you on one fashionable ride down festival lane in which your eyes may (or may not) be opened to some impressive outfits that won’t cost you a festival ticket!
First of all, let’s keep in mind that there are a few particular items of clothing that you can repetitively wear and switch around, this will be explained further within the article, of course!
**All items of clothing have a click-able link to their sale source**
1. Get yo’ boutique on!
Bou-what?! “But isn’t a boutique full of old shit that nobody wants anymore?” Well, when going to a half decent second hand store, about 70% of the stuff in there will be absolute crap but the other 30% will be hidden gems that have transcended their way through the 90s and straight into your closet! Vintage clothing doesn’t mean that you will look like a wannabee homeless hipster, you can always find some cute tops, jackets and even old Levis high-waisted jeans.
My advice is, head down to a second hand store near you or a vintage clothing boutique near you and check it out! If you don’t have a boutique nearby or don’t feel like rummaging through old stuff, you can jump on ASOS and take a look! For those who haven’t yet heard of ASOS, this will most likely become your new favourite online store. It has everything and anything at quite reasonable prices!

2. Get ‘dressy’:
Believe it or not, but dresses are actually quite comfy whilst at festivals (if it isn’t too short). They’re easy and light for the blazing hot days, they always match well with Nike’s and you can dress them up for other occasions or dress them down to look casual whilst partying. If you don’t feel comfortable wearing a dress then try a jumpsuit, you may grow to love the simplicity of them!

3. WTF is a co-ord?
A co-ord, or more widely known as a co-ordinate set is a matching bottom and that both express the exact same print. Although the concept seems strange, it always looks great and vibrant to help you stand out! The best thing about co-ords is that you can mix and match them with plain denim jeans and shorts or with a plain coloured singlet!

4. Denim is life:
It’s true, a girl cannot own enough denim even if she tried! When living the dream during festival season, it is important to own enough quality jeans, shorts and skirts, but how will we ever afford this? I have been dying to properly introduce my best friend, Cheap Monday. Designed by the fashionable Swedes, Cheap Monday jeans are well, cheap, extremely comfortable, great quality and will certainly brighten up any Monday.
Oh, and be sure to check out their website for some great buys!

6. A-a-accessorise!
Your outfit isn’t complete without those necessary accessories! Sunglasses, a small bag and jewellery are the basics to say the least, so keep your eyes peeled as we show you some to die for pieces!

Crystal Choker Scrunchie Mini Backpack
Well that was a nice sum up of all the possibilities out there! Unfortunately we were unable to fit in all of the clothing that we wanted to show, but if you are interested in what we have thrown on display then be sure to check out the following websites for some inspiration, festival fashion ideas and maybe a cheeky purchase (or 10!). Ladies, we hope that this segment has you ready to party and the drop of a hat and will reduce those hours that you spend rummaging around the shopping malls and through your cupboards to find something decent!
