EDM legend Hardwell takes Sephyx under his wing to create a killer Hardstyle remix!
It’s no longer a surprise that the world’s former #1 DJ Hardwell has taken quite the liking to the harder styles. For years he’s been allowing Hardstyle artists release official remixes of his music and his open-minded approach to our genre has made him one of the more ‘bearable’ EDM artists. Hell, he even made a special appearance at last years’ Pussy Lounge In The Park, held in his home city Breda.
This year, Hardwell took things to the next level and decided to give production a shot. When his first solo track was teased around the internet, a plethora of positive support from the Hardstyle community rolled in, commending the EDM heavyweight for making a great attempt at a genre that normally takes years to perfect. Truly immersing himself in the genre and scene surrounding it, Hardwell also took a look around at artists he’d like to work with, resulting in a collaboration with melodic Hardstyle hero Atmozfears.
In most recent news, Hardwell has now looked into the future for his latest Hardstyle collaboration. After having his track “Mad World” officially remixed by Sephyx, it only seemed logical that these two Breda boys would be spending some more time in the studio together. Soon after the release, a picture of the pair surfaced the net, making fans incredibly excited for what this unlikely combo would come up with and most importantly, how their collaboration would sound.
A matter of days ago, Hardwell posted his weekly ‘On Air’ podcast (episode 266) and at the conclusion of the episode laid some 150BPM magic in the form of a remix. Adding their own spin on The Chainsmokers hit “Don’t Let Me Down,” the pair did a superb job of creating a powerful and touching work of art. The melody is awesome, the kicks are fitting, it’s catchy AF and all in all it’s a solid effort, so kudos to Sephyx & Hardwell!
We wonder if these two Breda boys will be teaming up for an original next time… Only time will tell!
Let’s take it to our readers: What are your thoughts on this remix? Does Hardwell have a shot in pursuing his Hardstyle productions further?

” ‘bearable’ EDM artists.” Really? Do you people actually listen to hardstyle 24/7 to the point where other artist that produces other genres aren’t bearable? Do you actally listen to hardstyle and ONLY hardstyle? Don’t you ever atleast tried to listen to other genres atleast once? Don’t get me wrong, I fucking love hardstyle, but I also love dubstep, drum n bass, trap, electro, and heck even house. Is the hardstyle community this close minded?
