Google’s DeepDream. What has actually been an unintentional by-product of image recognition code, is now accessible to the public in form of image software and open code. And it’s weird shit. Sometimes the code interprets formations, patterns and entire faces into the pictures that you feed it. Sometimes more extreme, sometimes less. “Do robots dream of electric sheep?”, we’re not sure, but DeepDream might have a thing for dogs and birds! Is it true artificial creativity or just clever AI programming? We don’t know. But what we asked ourselves was: what happens when you process the colorful and vivid pictures of Michel van Rossum from Rossumedia through a DeepDream application? Answer: all kinds of things! Dancers turn into grotesque formations, crows into undefined storms and fireworks into a sea of eyes and dog-like shapes. The pictures range from “beautiful” to “NOT SLEEPING TONIGHT”! So sit back and enjoy the show! (Click to enlarge!)
