Artist Of The Month – June, 2016!
As we edge into the peak of festival season, it’s a time to evaluate and consider which artists are leading the way with their productions and performances. It’s undeniable that there’s bucket-loads of talent in the Hard Dance scene, however with the extremely fast pace of releases and ‘trends,’ it’s more than easy for talents and established names to fall underneath the radar from time to time. With this notion in mind, this month we wanted to spotlight a trailblazing artist who represents the present and future of Hard Dance music.
Set to become an iconic figure, this certain name has already changed the game with his radical, boundary-pushing signature sound. Releasing music since 2011, our artist of the month pulled through the ‘underground’ times of raw Hardstyle as he stayed true to pursuing the extreme sounds. By 2015, the majority of Hardstyle devotees knew his name, had watched him perform several times and were earnestly following his journey.
Without further ado, we’re proud to present our artist of the month for June, 2016. This Polish pioneer will ‘push it to the limit’ until it’s ‘broken’ and you’ve gone ‘insane.’ Yep, you guessed it – let’s shine the spotlight on Regain!
Polish-born Paweł Goss has certainly made his mark over the past couple of years with his annihilating take on raw Hardstyle. Characterised by his Earth-shattering kicks, piercing screeches and full-blown brutality, Regain has earned his spot at the top of the talent-chain whilst remaining extremely humble about his achievements. Signed to Heart For Hard Records since 2013, Regain is practically the face of this small label, proving that music speaks more powerfully than being signed to a large label.
Tracks such as “Be Remade,” “Push It To The Limit,” and “Insane” eventually reached a huge demographic of prospective fans and also reached piloting artists, such as Adaro, who requested Pawel to officially remix “For The Street,” marking one of his biggest career highlights to date! This remix tore a new one in the Hardstyle scene as Regain went where other producers never dared to go, creating a next-level explosion of relentlessness within his sound. Another huge 2015 release was the unforgettable hit “Broken,” a track that combined emotionally-fuelled lyrics with total musical aggression. “Broken” did unexplainable things for Pawel’s career, as his unique style of production ultimately set him aside from the rest of the ‘talent pool.’
It didn’t end there however, the milestones kept flowing in 2015 as Regain dominated stages at Dreamfields, Decibel, Unlocked, Intents Festival, We Are Hardstyle and of course, his own event Regain: Point Of No Return. It’s always a risk for such a new name to host their own event; however the ample success the night brought could only promise bigger and better things for the Polish producer.
2016 began with a bang, with Regain taking his legacy to one of the biggest stages in the world of Hard Dance. Together with Requiem and Jason Payne, he comprised the exclusive live-act ‘3 The Hard Way’ who tore Hard Bass a new one by dishing up an explosive finale that blew up the colossal Gelredome. More milestone performances followed as Pawel spread his sound to crowds at Masters Of Hardcore, Rebirth, Beat The Bridge, Loudness, Fatality and Qapital.
Something that’s rather impressive about Regain is that his unique approach has put him in extremely high demand by promoters. It’s not common that international names are flying out to The Netherlands on a weekly basis; the majority of the time promoters will book an artist that’s similar, seeing as they don’t have to provide airfares, but Regain has managed to score himself an abundance of impressive gigs. You can catch him over the summer at Intents Festival, World Of Pleasure, Defqon.1, Dreamfields, The Qontinent and Decibel amongst others.
Music-wise, this Polish sensation has left a lasting imprint on the scene with recent releases “Wakin Up” with Warface, “Piece Of Shit” with Psyched, “Ultimate Victory” with Typhoon and “Go Harder” with Blackwatch, featuring MC Renegade. His signature relentlessness draws in more and more fans daily as the force of Regain is one to be reckoned with.
