Artist Of The Month – August, 2016!

Wow, how time flies when you’re having fun… What a spectacular summer season it’s been so far and there’s still ample madness yet to come! Aside from soaking up the good vibes at festivals each week, new music has been rolling in like waves and we’re nothing but impressed. Speaking of being impressed, it was quite a difficult task to choose an act to represent the month, however after their kick-ass performance at Dominator last month and album sampler as part of the event’s CD it was a no-brainer that we’d be sailing over to the UK to spotlight a very special trio.

They’re destructive, hard and won’t hesitate to push the tempo – ladies and gentlemen, please give a warm welcome to our artist(s) of the month for August 2016, Destructive Tendencies!

Forming in 2010, Destructive Tendencies had one main goal – to tear their path within the European Hardcore scene. Many of you might not know this, but the DT guys already had separate conquests; Joey Riot was (and still is) conquering the UKHC scene and Dark-Lite & DMR represented Hardcore. Joining their forces to create the rule-breaking super-trio Destructive Tendencies, little did they know that their reckless productions would become incredibly successful amongst a worldwide demographic.

After their initial releases dropped like bombs upon the scene, the guys quickly gained support from Hardcore’s biggest names which allowed them to spread their legacy and infect the European listeners. By 2012 the name Destructive Tendencies was in lights after they released their debut three-tracker EP “This Is Your Moment” on Megarave Records. Following up this effort by winning a remix competition for Mad Dog’s “Agony,” the guys had the honour to officially release this slammer as part of the ‘This Is Hardcore’ concept.

Breaking through the conventional boundaries of mainstream Hardcore, Destructive Tendencies’ tunes thrive on high quality, high tempos and most importantly, a boundless and reckless energy! These combining factors have ultimately set a solid base for this trio to grow on a global scale and even become immensely popular amongst the tough Dutch crowd. Not only impressing their devoted fan-base, but the guys also wowed the professional sphere, resulting in them being the first UK-based act to sign to eminent bookings agency Most Wanted DJ Agency in 2014. As the cherry on top of their prosperous career, Destructive Tendencies were also welcomed onto Italian platform Hardcore Blasters and celebrated this new venture with their EP “Our Core,” which featured annihilating tracks “I’ll Let You Have Your Day” and “Our Core.”

As 2015 rolled around, Destructive Tendencies had built up an unprecedented discography as well as a solid bookings schedule with gigs at Intents Festival, Fantasy Island, Harmony Of Hardcore, Decibel Outdoor, Syndicate, Dominator, The Qontinent, Defqon.1 and many, many more. Additionally, one of the biggest highlights for the act was their performance alongside Partyraiser at the illustrious Masters of Hardcore. Tearing the venue down and closing the event, the guys also premiered their emotionally-fuelled collaboration “Sound Becomes One.” Classed as one of Hardcore’s most unforgettable hits, this modern classic touched the hearts of fans worldwide and was even voted as the #1 Hardcore track of 2015!

More massive tracks were on the cards for Destructive Tendencies, including the slamming “Bring Us Some” alongside Hardstyle heavyweight Radical Redemption, solo tracks “Against All The Odds” and “Do You Bleed?” and of course, “Release The Kraken” alongside Warface. And it doesn’t end there!

Last month at Dominator, Destructive Tendencies took it to the colossal mainstage to showcase their album. It was a spectacle for any devoted fan as this performance was merely symbolic of all of their hard work and devotion to Hardcore. Delivering a next-level and truly special performance, fans were blown away and totally astonished by the end of their set! Not to mention, our Alive At Night team also witnessed it and placed this moment at #1 in our top 10 moments from Dominator. It was truly special and for those who missed out, well, shame on you!

With impending performances at The Qontinent, Decibel Outdoor, Ravezone, Defqon.1 Australia, Syndicate, Unlocked, Unity and many more, for Hardcore fanatics seeking out something extraordinary, we suggest that you hit up one of their sets!

A huge congratulations to Destructive Tendencies for taking our ‘artist of the month’ title this month. We can’t wait to see what the future holds for these talented guys!
