#TBT – A well deserved tribute to Zatox’s “Raw Style”
Moving into warmer, longer and sunnier days, the cravings for the summer festival season are eminent as ever and with that in mind, its time to get your body moving with some thumping tunes! Nowadays it’s all about the energy that ‘raw’ Hardstyle delivers – but where exactly did this niche sub-genre begin?
This #TBT will surely answer that question, as we go back to 2010 and pay our respects to one of Raw Hardstyle’s most defining tracks. Ladies and gentleman, I’m indeed talking about Zatox’s evergreen slammer “Raw Style,” feat. Nikkita.
Released at a time where intricate melodies coupled with reverse bass were the bees-knees, the rougher sounds were still something quite new and underground. Italian master Zatox had built his foundations on creating music that was a little harder than the rest, and his track “Raw Style” was a creation that finally gave a name to this emerging style. Now, almost seven years later, it’s incredible to think about how much ‘raw’ has evolved and how many possibilities fall within this one name.
“Sit the fuck down, and shut the fuck up!”
