#TBT – A well deserved tribute to Frontliner’s “Spacer”
Well, you could say that the scene has reached boiling point as one of the hottest festivals of the year is on the horizon! I’m indeed talking about Decibel Outdoor, which is set to hold place this weekend and despite the rain throughout last years’ edition, you guys have proven that you can party hard, no matter the forecast. To get you in the mood for this weekend’s adventures, we’ve pulled aside one of the finest, most time transcendent productions to date and will give this stunning number our utmost appreciation.
Guys and gals, we’re proud to present our #TBT tribute for this week – please put your hands together for Frontliner’s super-galactic “Spacer.”
Released back in 08′, it’s incredible to see that even after floating around the scene for eight years (yes, eight) “Spacer” still has the ability to tear apart any stage it’s played on! This is undoubtedly one of Frontliner’s most successful productions and was one of his most defining works – I mean, they didn’t name him the ‘melodyman’ for no reason, right?
If I must get down to the nitty-gritty of this mesmerising track, it’s evident that “Spacer” displayed a new, innovative sound that no producer had dared to cross into. In addition to Frontliner’s audacity in the studio, the whole galactic and supernatural ambience in the track is really what set it aside from other releases at the time. Whenever I listen to “Spacer” I can feel myself drifting off into a parallel world of imagination where I visualise myself floating through space and watching the planets pass me by. Nowadays it’s rare for Hardstyle to spark these kinds of visualisations, so it’s always incredible to listen to older tunes and feel my imagination running wild!
