#TBT – A well deserved tribute to Frontliner & Max Enforcer’s “On The Go.”
Sun rising at an ungodly hour, being able to walk outside without an overbearing coat and daylight rolling lazily until the late evening hours as you sit on the balcony having a beer – doesn’t sound too bad, right? For ravers who aren’t so convinced, let me put it this way; dancing wildly and relentlessly throwing your fist in the air as the intense rays of the sun kiss your skin whilst shouting the lyrics to the track you’ve been waiting for all day. This is what summer is about.
Speaking of summer, last weekend Rebirth Festival was held, which marked the official kick-off of the silly season. In light of this spectacular happening, I figured that for this week’s #TBT I’d dig up a very special track that never ceases to get the crowd dancing (especially me, I lose my shit every time I hear this). Despite being released over five years ago, the production of this time-transcendent gem was so far ahead of its time, making it a piece of treasure amongst other releases.
We present to you our #TBT tribute for this week, “On The Go” by Frontliner and Max Enforcer.
I’ve said this fantasy before, however I’m going to bring it up again because it’s a pretty valid. This trancey and mysterious number reminds me of going into incognito mode and breaking into someone’s house. As the track builds up towards the middle you reach for some valuables, then right as it drops the alarm goes off and you have to run down the stairs, make a swift escape and jump into your getaway car. I’m not a kleptomaniac, but I do feel as though if I was to ever rob somebody’s house then I’d want “On The Go” as the ‘theme’ song of the robbery… Just saying…
Despite my little ‘fantasy’ surrounding “On The Go,” it’s also such a top production and is the shining star in Frontliner and Max Enforcer’s discographies. It’s simply so unique; I mean, with handfuls of tracks released that sound similar, there is (and probably will never be) anything that sounds remotely similar to this stellar track.
