B-Front – Beyond Reality – “It is art”

In today’s world we almost forgot that reality is but a social concept. It is a concept that creates order out of all the chaos around us. It is a mean of the modern man to tell himself what is real and what is fiction; what is part of this world and what is not. Reality is the common acceptance between men of what is real… and what goes beyond. ‘Beyond Reality’ is an exploration of this porous demarcation.

With ‘Beyond Reality,’ one of the most respectable and influential producers of our industry, B-Front, has built a timeless artifact. For the entire length of the album the listener wanders in a liminal space between reality and long forgotten dimensions. Every kick, every melody, every sound seems to be designed to generate this escape from reality; to go beyond it.

That very moment when the first notes make their way into your mind, the world around you seems to diminish to only a momentum of here and now. Close your eyes and everything around you dissolves into oblivion while the tracks draw the most beautiful landscapes in your imagination. Like a small sailing boat being taken by the waves of the ocean, the mind is driven away by the soundwaves of this album.

Whilst soaking up the soundwaves of ‘Beyond Reality’ the listener experiences the same feeling as watching a remarkable film, or soaking up the story-line of a great novel. Problems and sorrows no longer matter as the beauty creates the possibility to completely submerge oneself into the story generated by the artist. For me, this is the ultimate experience of any form of art; taking the admirer away to new places. Making one feel like there is more to life than meets the eye. ‘Beyond Reality’ does exactly this – it is art.

There are two things I dislike about the album. The first is the plastic case in which the album is delivered. The majestic experience should have started the minute you opened the package, but unfortunately one needs to wait until the CD is played. My second remark is the fact that this album is probably the most sophisticated album our industry will ever see. After listening to this album everything else sounds like shallow and meaningless noise.

It is safe to say that ‘Beyond Reality’ will soon become a relic. Every self-respecting Hardstyle lover that is able to lay its hands on this album should not hesitate. Get this insane album and let yourself be entrained by one of the greatest artist our industry has and will ever see.
